Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American British sitarist and musician. She was the first and first female to win the British House of Commons Shield she's had 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to play live on stage and also be a presenter for the awards ceremony. Anoushka is the new star on the rise in Indian sitar. She's the child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Born in London She spent her early years of her life moving between London and New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. After moving to Encinitas, California in 1999, she was awarded an honorary high school diploma. Anouskha was only a teenager, has had an impressive recording and performing career. She performs regularly with her dad and has performed with him for many years. She released her debut album in 1998. released Anourag as her first single album. She released the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year later. Alongside performing at many of the biggest venues and venues, she also has a long stage career. Anoushka Shakar's talents are not only limited to music. She released Bapi The love of my life in the year 2002. It is a biography which pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. In 2003 she starred as a Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising superstar and her fame will keep on growing. Anoushka Shankar is a British born musician who spent her early years between London, Delhi and California. When she was nine years old, she began her studies in music under her father, who made her debut on the sitar four years later at the celebration of his 75th birthday in Delhi. Accompanying her father as he toured the world Anoushka was able to accumulate a variety of experiences appearing on stage at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens. She performed at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, and also recording together with George Harrison. She was the first woman to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, presented by British Parliament as recognition of her musicianship and artistry in performing in the Asian Arts.
